Not Everyone Drinks Coffee. That's Exactly Why We Have Yuzu Honey.

Flow was designed around a simple idea: everyone deserves a great drink. Not just coffee drinkers. Not just dairy drinkers. Everyone.

When we were building out our menu, we kept coming back to one question: what about the colleague who doesn't touch caffeine? The friend who is lactose intolerant? The student who just wants something cold and refreshing in the middle of a humid Singapore afternoon?

The answer, for us, was Iced Yuzu Honey.

Why a Non-Coffee Option Matters

Plenty of people don't drink coffee. Some don't like the taste. Some are sensitive to caffeine. Some are pregnant, or just taking a break from caffeine. And in a country where it's 32°C by 11am, sometimes you just want something cold and citrusy.

If Flow only catered to coffee drinkers, we would be leaving a lot of people out. And that's not what we want!

So What Is Yuzu Honey, Anyway?

Yuzu is a citrus fruit from East Asia — think somewhere between a lemon, a grapefruit, and a mandarin, with a floral quality that's difficult to place but impossible to forget. It's been used in Japanese and Korean cooking for centuries, and it's been making its way into drinks and desserts across Singapore over the past few years.

Yuzu honey is what you get when you combine yuzu juice and zest with honey — the honey softens the tartness of the citrus while amplifying the bright, fragrant notes. The result is something that's refreshing without being too sharp, and sweet without being cloying.

How We Found Sugibee

When we were sourcing the yuzu honey base for this drink, we tried a lot of options. Some were too sweet. Some tasted too artificial. Some had citrus flavour, but not much depth. They were fine, but they did not feel like something we would be excited to recommend.

Then we came across Sugibee, first spotted at Takashimaya, and it immediately felt different from the others we had tasted.

There was a eureka moment for us, the one where we tasted this and immediately knew it fit what we were looking for.

It tasted brighter, smoother and more genuine. Instead of feeling like just another sweet syrup, it had a real honey-based profile and a yuzu flavour that felt clean and refreshing.

That mattered to us because Iced Yuzu Honey was never meant to be a random non-coffee option added just to fill the menu.

Why It Works in Singapore

Singapore's climate is hot and humid.

Iced Yuzu Honey is built for that environment. It is light, it's thirst-quenching, and it doesn't leave you feeling heavy the way a lot of sweet drinks do. It is also vegan-friendly, caffeine-free, and something you can hand to pretty much anyone without worrying about dietary restrictions.

That versatility is intentional. It is a drink that works for the coffee-avoider, the health-conscious, and the person who just wants something that tastes good on a hot day.

A Machine for Everyone

The Iced Yuzu Honey is probably the best example of what Flow actually believes: that good drinks should be accessible to everyone, not just people who want a double espresso. When you see it on the menu, we hope it feels like we thought about you too — because we genuinely did.
